Warranty

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Under this limited warranty (“Warranty”), Northland Cabinets, Inc. (“NCI”) warrants to the original purchaser, or the end user if different from the original purchaser (collectively the “Customer”), that all cabinets and other products NCI manufactures (“Products” - which shall include only fully assembled cabinets manufactured by NCI, including face frames, boxes, doors, and drawer fronts, but excluding hardware, finishes, and any components not made by NCI) will be free from defects in raw materials and workmanship under normal use conditions for a period of one year from the date the Products are delivered to the property where they are installed or intended to be installed (“Warranty Period”). During the Warranty Period, and subject to the terms and conditions below, any Products which have been proven to NCI’s satisfaction to be covered by this Warranty will at NCI’s sole discretion be repaired or replaced.

This Warranty Includes:

• Cracks, splits, warping, or delamination present before finishing or installation.
• Problems with joints, assembly, or structural integrity, subject to the exclusions below.

This Warranty Excludes:

• Parts and materials included in or made part of the Products that were not manufactured by NCI.
  • Hinges, handles, knobs and other hardware are not covered under this Warranty and shall only be covered by any applicable manufacturer warranties.
• Costs, including labor, to remove and re-install materials and related components such as appliances, flooring, countertops, fixtures and like items.
• Wearing and cracking over time of painted cabinets.
  • Painted surfaces are particularly susceptible to visible cracking at joints and wear over time due to the natural movement of wood.
• Variation in wood grain or color.
  • Wood is a natural product and the grain and color will vary from piece to piece. This is normal and unavoidable.
  • Wood also changes over time and might lighten or darken depending on the species and lighting conditions.
• Color Changes Over Time.
  • Sunlight, smoke, household cleaners and other environmental conditions may affect the cabinet color over time.
  • These variations are natural and are not covered under this warranty.
• Unfinished cabinets painted or stained by a party other than NCI or its direct subcontractors
• Installation or workmanship issues related to installation of Products by a party other than NCI or its direct subcontractors. This Warranty does not apply to any installation performed by the Customer, third-party contractors, or resellers unless explicitly authorized in writing by NCI.
• Humidity Related Issues:
  • Wood will expand and contract due to humidity conditions which may cause warping, and/or splitting and cracking on seams and joints.
  • This is considered normal and is not covered under this Warranty.
• Five-piece Doors:
  • Due to the integrity and construction of five-piece doors, expansion and contraction may cause cracking in the joints of the five-piece doors and drawers. This Warranty does not cover such issues.
• Damage to Products caused in whole or in part by misuse, acts of God, exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures, alterations, improper installation, storage, or handling, or other factors beyond NCI’s control.
• Damage to Products during shipping or transportation by a party other than NCI or its direct subcontractors or hired couriers.

Warranty Claims: The Warranty is null and void unless the Customer:

• Notifies NCI in writing (“Claim Notice”) of any alleged defects or claims related to the Products (“Claims”) within thirty (30) calendar days after discovery of the Claims by Customer or any authorized agent of Customer acting on their behalf.

1. Provides to NCI documentation of the Claims, such as photographs, videos, or reports from third parties.
2. Schedules an inspection with NCI to assess the Products and the Claims within fourteen (14) calendar days after being contacted by the NCI in reply to the Claim Notice.

Prior to Customer taking any corrective or legal action regarding Claims, NCI must first be given the opportunity to make any legitimate repairs, replacements or corrections pursuant to applicable laws, industry standards and this Warranty. NCI will not be responsible for rework required as a result of the acts or errors of others. Subsequent work or attempted repairs by any other party in connection with the Products voids this Warranty. In no event will NCI be responsible to Customer or any other party for consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages related to or arising out of the Products provided by NCI or related to or arising out of any Claims. If NCI is not paid in full for the Products then this Warranty shall be null and void
